They happen all too often. We received a frantic telephone call at noon recently from a company needing two flyers printed in full-color which had to be delivered by end of day to complete a time-sensitive mailing. The first flyer was a 4000 run, the second 13000. The price was a major concern.

The caller explained their color copier was too slow to make the deadline. They had contacted several other local printing companies, but found only one could complete both flyers by 5PM. However, that printer only offered digital printing, which put the price of the high quantity flyer way beyond reasonable.

Multicolor Printing was able to complete and deliver both items in just over three hours and meet their budget. This would not have been possible unless we offered both digital and offset printing. The lower quantity flyer was printed digitally on our Xerox Digital Color Press. The higher quantity flyer was printed on our Heidelberg Speedmaster 5-color offset press. Having BOTH digital and offset capability allowed us to produce each flyer on equipment best suited for their required quantities. This efficiency kept their pricing to a minimum.

What are the lessons learned? There are at least 3…

Don’t waste your valuable time. Call Multicolor Printing FIRST!

Know the capabilities of your printing vendor. Make sure they offer a variety of production options to efficiently produce your various printing needs. Many storefront printers have very limited in-house production equipment (some have none). They outsource much of their work to internet printers and don’t tell you.

It’s doubtful you’ll find any printing company in South Florida (maybe the entire state) able to match Multicolor Printing’s in-house production capabilities which include: offset printing, digital printing, wide-format inkjet, embossing, foil stamping, die-cutting, and letterpress printing.

This may help explain why Direct Mail is exceedingly more successful than email marketing. (See this)

The article states that since 1980, more than one hundred studies have been conducted in the United States, U.K. Taiwan, Sweden, Norway, France and Japan to explore how people read and comprehend on paper versus screens. Overwhelmingly, the studies conclude that readers prefer real paper over its electronic counterpart and achieve higher levels of comprehension and retention with paper.

Do you prefer to read on paper or screen?
Click HERE to take the poll.

The article outlines many of the advantages of paper…

‘Paper not only has inherent environmental features such as high recyclability, carbon storage, and a renewable primary raw material (wood, recycled and alternative fibers), it also is less distracting and allows the reader to focus on the text. The absence of multi-tasking leads to a greater understanding of the subject matter and in turn, creates a memorable experience.’

Multicolor Printing knows a lot about papers. After all, we’ve been making quality products with paper for nearly 50 years! More importantly, we offer an unmatched variety of in-house production methods to insure your budget and creativity will not be limited including Offset Printing, Digital Printing, Letterpress Printing, Large-format inkjet Printing, Embossing, Foil Stamping and Die Cutting.

As helpful as this guide is, it leaves out a number of embellishments which can be added to business cards to REALLY make them pop. Among them are metallic inks, coatings, embossing, foil stamping and letterpress. Also… where’s the rule that says business cards have to have four square corners? Not us. A rounded top or cut edge can really make your card stand out.

Multicolor Printing has all these unique services IN-HOUSE. It’s a fact… we are literally, a business card factory.

So… follow Lily Herman’s helpful guide and then add some pizzazz to your cards.

Call us and we’ll show you how your business card really can be the best one at your next networking event.

We recognize the vital role non-profit organizations play in our community and as such, we offer our deepest discounts to 501c3 groups. Most often our partnerships revolve around brochures, postcards, letterheads, envelopes, invitation packages for gala fund-raising events or year-end appeal campaigns, including direct mail.

Non-profits, religious and charity organizations depend on donors for survival. Their goal is to reach all income levels of donors, from high income to low. Direct mail and printing in general are a mainstay of these organizations fundraising plans. In this endeavor, it is critical that non-profit organization be cautious in the types of printing they have produced, especially for appeal campaigns. If they print and mail items perceived to be too costly, the lower end of their donors might be offended. Conversely, if they mail something unprofessional or cheap, they run the risk of not being taken seriously by high-end donors.

At Multicolor Printing, we provide a variety of printing methods to cover both ends of this spectrum. We offer low-cost digital printing and black-ink offset printing for simple, small-quantity items such as letters, flyers and envelopes. In addition, we offer five-color offset printing for brochures, event posters and newsletters, as well as the embellishments: embossing, foil stamping and die cutting for eye-catching gala invitations.

To summarize, Multicolor Printing is a complete, one-stop print shop for non-profit organizations. We offer an outstanding balance of print production methods, a balance found no where else on the Treasure Coast. If you are responsible for your non-profit organizations printing needs, give us a call at 287-1676. We are certain you’ll be very pleased.

Perhaps you should. You might be surprised by what you see, that is, if you get to see anything at all. A recent visitor to our plant shared with us her experience with a local ‘printer’ who produced her brochure incorrectly. When she demanded to watch the reprint of the job being printed on press, she learned she would have to drive to Miami, because the ‘printer’ she entrusted her work to, did only graphic design in-house and sent all his customer’s printing needs to “various on-line print companies located throughout the country.”

There are a myriad of printing sources available to print buyers today, but as always… BUYER BEWARE. Many of these, so-called, print vendors HAVE NO EQUIPMENT, EMPLOY NO LOCAL EMPLOYEES AND COLLECT NO LOCAL TAXES TO HELP OUR COMMUNITY AND LOCAL ECONOMY. They are merely brokers who send their customer’s jobs to some far-off internet producer located hundreds or even thousands of miles away. In most cases these jobs are gang-run on a very large press sheet with many other similar jobs… hardly the quality control you should demand.

At Multicolor Printing, we encourage our customers and prospects to visit our plant. We are proud of the vast array of equipment we have assembled during our 45 years of doing business HERE on the Treasure Coast. Our in-house production capabilities include: offset printing, digital printing, large format printing, embossing, foil stamping and die cutting,

Don’t have buyer’s remorse. Educate yourself… know your print supplier’s IN-HOUSE CAPABILITIES.
